How does AutoGhost detect driving?

AutoGhost uses your device's motion sensors (accelerometer and gyroscope) to detect vehicle movement. It does not use GPS or access your location at any time.

Do I need to do anything when I start driving?

Nope! AutoGhost runs in the background and automatically detects when you're in a moving vehicle. You can also start a drive manually from the home screen if you prefer.

Which apps get blocked?

You choose which apps to block in your settings. AutoGhost never blocks phone calls, emergency services, navigation, or system apps.

Why does AutoGhost need Activity Recognition?

Activity Recognition allows AutoGhost to detect when you're in a vehicle using motion sensors. Without this permission, automatic drive detection won't work (you can still start drives manually).

Why does AutoGhost need App Blocking permission?

On Android, this uses Usage Stats. On iOS, this uses Screen Time (FamilyControls). These permissions let AutoGhost temporarily block your selected apps while driving.

Does AutoGhost track my location?

Never. AutoGhost has zero access to your GPS or location data. We use motion sensors only.

Apps aren't being blocked during drives

Accepted Answer

Check that App Blocking permission is granted and that you've added apps to your block list in Settings. On iOS, ensure Screen Time access is enabled.

Question 12

The app detected driving when I was a passenger

Accepted Answer

This can happen since motion sensors detect vehicle movement, not who's driving. Use the "I'm Not Driving" button — hold it for 3 seconds to dismiss, then complete the unlock challenge.
